Bologne Distillery is the last in Guadeloupe (French West Indies) to cultivate this Black sugar cane, despite its low yield. The strong and concentrated essence, the exceptional aromatic potential, is a kind of common thread in the production of rum. This special reserve, made from 100% Sugar cane, is a limited edition, with only 10,000 bottles produced. The black canes are hand harvested after 12 months of maturity, then carefully cleaned, crushed and the resulting juice is fermented over 48 hours. Distillation gave an "Eau-de-vie" at 70% ABV, which will pass six months to rest before being reduced to 55% ABV, and 52% ABV to 50% after an additional 6 months.

Black Cane rum has a pure, shining color and is as clear as spring water. The rum has a very present viscosity due to the wealth of highly aromatic elements. The nose is mellow, with great aromatic complexity. The first essence on the nose is exotic and hot (cane, mango, passion fruit). It is then reinforced by the acidity of citrus (lime and orange). There are also aromatic, fruity notes of mango, lychee, passion fruit and fresh cane. Floral and delicate aromas of lilies, hawthorn, acacia and thousand flower honeys, are detected and identified by spicy but subtle green pepper, mint and licorice.

The palate is soft and balanced. The aromas are perceived on the nose and transcended by fresh cane, extraordinarily transcribed, becoming its true essence. The mid-palate is concentrated, lush, exuberant and full of banana, pineapple, mango, pear and other citrus fruits. The amazing finish delivers spicy hints of ginger, and never ceases to astound with its authenticity and depth. The retro-olfaction is floral, with impressive smoothness and length on a final touch with slight iodine. Purists should enjoy this rum as-is, all others may want to consider serving over ice.

Do you ship worldwide?

We ship planetrum goods all over the world to most destinations everyday from Guadeloupe F.W.I. You can order with confidence, safe in the knowledge that we'll do our best to get your goods to you as quick as we can. It takes just a few days to deliver your order, wherever you are, however we don't like to guarantee exact delivery times due to unexpected delays that could occur with customs etc. If your shipping destination is not available, please contact us. I have just placed my order, what happens next?

We will start processing your order immediately. As long as the goods are in stock, they will be packed up carefully within five working days and sent off. Once we have received your order it's not possible to change or cancel it. If you have made a mistake with your shipping address it's not always possible to change it in time but please contact us immediately to see what we can do.

How much does shipping cost?

The shipping will be calculated at checkout, depending of your destination and weight.

Can I track my order?

As soon as your order has shipped, we'll email you the tracking number.

Do I have to pay tax or import fees?

If your delivery address is France 19,6% VAT, French territories 8,5% VAT is included in your total price. Product prices for all other destinations do not include VAT but you may have to pay import fees and tax on delivery. Import fees vary widely across the world, so please contact your customs office for further details.

What is your policy on refunds or returns?

We can only accept your return if the goods are absolutely in good condition and in the original condition. In turn we would never send out used goods to you. When you purchase from Planetrum we guarantee that you'll get a brand new product. We are sure you understand that if we receive a used bottle or case from you, it will show and due to our strict guidelines we won't be able to accept the return. So in the unlikely event that you decide that the product is not for you after tasting it, we recommend to pass it on to a friend or try and sell it privately. We are also not able to directly exchange goods so if you decide you would like a different product you will need to return or cancel your order and place a new one. In the unlikely event that you are not happy with your goods, please email us immediately as we will need to authorise the return. Your return must be dispatched within seven working days from receiving the delivery. Return requests will not be accepted outside of this period or without the supplied return address label. Once the goods are returned to us in the original and unused condition we will process a refund for the goods. If the return is despatched after seven working days we will issue a store credit only at our discretion. If you send back used goods they will be sent back to you at your expense. Shipping costs and import fees are not refundable. Please note that returns from outside the EU that are shipped duty unpaid will be refused until any associated fees are paid by the sender.

How do I cancel my order?

To cancel your order, please send an email to our Customer Service department with your order number. Please keep in mind that there is a limited amount of time before your order ships out.
